Camp HandRIGHTing, Ink. will be offering a 6 week summer handwriting programs for your child in 2008. Children generally attend one 1-hour classes per week from the schedule below. As in the past, Camp HandRIGHTing, Ink. will focus on improving the various performance components that underlie the skill of handwriting. These underlying skills include postural control, eye-hand coordination, attention and visual perception as well as other skills. The group classes are fun! They provide a variety of sensory-motor experiences and handwriting projects to meet individual needs. Your child will work at his or her own pace to gain skill and mastery.

A typical class for children in the printing and cursive classes may begin with a 20 minute fine motor coordination craft or other fun activity. Then the real work begins with reviewing last week's homework to correct any areas that need improvement.  Soon we are working to learn to improve new letters, with greater skill, self confidence and pride in our work.  Next we learn about our homework for the following week and receive the loose leaf 3-page packets of fun mazes, hidden figures, and dot-to-dots.  Finally, we get a prize or two for our very good efforts!

Students who are new to HandRIGHTing, Ink are asked to schedule a 45 minute private appointment to allow us to acquaint ourselves with your child. The cost is $50.00 to complete this. Please call the Ardmore studio to arrange a good time.  The number is 610-649-1400.

Pre-writers aged 5 to 6 will focus on developing pre-writing skills as well as readiness skills including grasp and fine motor skills eye-hand coordination, postural control, visual discrimination, and attention with self control. They will increase their readiness for handwriting with a variety of pre-writing activities. Those children with appropriate readiness will be introduced to beginning letters.

Scheduling Information. Six classes are recommended.  However, if there are too few (1-2) children signed up for a group, then we will encourage these students to reschedule to a larger class.

Tuition:
One class/week for 6 weeks:          $270.00      

Two classes/week for 6 weeks:       $520.00
Two children/once per
    week for 6 weeks:                      $520.00

Enclose a $70.00 check with application to guarantee a place for your child.
